    Taking in the world deeply

Some children notice more – sound, emotion, change, detail.

Their nervous systems register the world with greater intensity, which can lead to faster overwhelm and deeper processing.

This isn't a flaw in how they're built. It's a feature of how their system works – one that comes with both challenges and gifts.

When we understand this, we can stop asking them to notice less and start helping them navigate what they notice.

A quiet moment before you go

Take a slow breath in through your nose.

Let the exhale be a little longer than the inhale.

Notice where your body is supported -
the chair, the floor, the ground beneath you.

Nothing needs to be decided right now.

    Nothing needs to be fixed.

Let this be enough for now.
