OUR STORY

We built the companion we couldn't find.

It started the way a lot of things do – not with a plan, but with a breaking point.

The evening had been brutal. The kind where you do everything right and it still falls apart completely. Sitting on the bathroom floor waiting for things to calm down, one thought kept circling: there was nothing. No app, no resource, no tool that actually knew this child. Everything out there was generic. Written for someone else's family.

That feeling turned into questions. The questions turned into research. The research led to neuroscientists, child psychologists, and other parents who said the same thing: nothing truly meets us where we are.

So we stopped waiting for someone else to build it.

This is an AI companion built specifically for neurodivergent children. Not adapted from something else. Designed from the ground up.

    WHAT WE BELIEVE

Five things we will never compromise on.

    01
A meltdown is never a behavior problem.
It is a nervous system state – below conscious control, beyond willpower, impossible to reason out of. Your child is not choosing this. Their body is responding to threat the only way it knows how.
    02
    Your child is not broken.
Their wiring is different. That difference is not a deficit to be corrected – it is a nervous system to be understood. The world was not built for them. That is the world's limitation, not your child's.
    03
    Regulation starts with you.
Your nervous system is the most powerful co-regulation tool your child has. When yours settles, theirs becomes capable of settling too. This is not a burden – it is the most direct path to helping them.
    04
No parent should face this alone at 2am.
Crisis support is always prioritised. Your companion is seconds away – just your email and one click. No password. No forms. No barrier between you and support. Every account starts with 5 free conversations a month; if you've used yours, upgrade to continue.
    05
Peer support and professional care belong together.
This companion sits alongside therapists, paediatricians, and educators – never instead of them. If your family needs clinical support, please seek it. We will never suggest otherwise.
    THE SCIENCE

The researchers who changed how we understand children.

Three researchers quietly transformed what we know about children, stress, and the nervous system. We draw on research across nervous-system regulation, co-regulation and neurodevelopment in every conversation, every pattern, every moment of guidance this companion offers.

    Dr. Stephen Porges
    Polyvagal Theory
Showed that fight, flight, freeze and shutdown are not bad behaviors – they are a nervous system trying to keep a child safe. This changes everything about how we respond.
    Dr. Dan Siegel
    Interpersonal Neurobiology
Showed that a parent's regulated nervous system is contagious to their child's – that co-regulation is not a technique but a biological reality that precedes all learning.
    Dr. Mona Delahooke
    Beyond Behaviors
Reframed difficult behavior as communication from a nervous system under load – and shifted the question from 'how do we stop this?' to 'what is this child trying to tell us?'

One of a Kind Mind is peer support. It is guided by this research. It is not clinical care and does not replace it.

    WHO THIS IS FOR

    You see your child differently.

Not as a problem to be solved. Not as a diagnosis to be managed. As a person whose nervous system works differently – and who deserves to be understood on their own terms.

This is for parents raising autistic children, children with ADHD, AuDHD, PDA, sensory processing differences – and children who simply feel the world more deeply than the world expects.

It is also for co-parents, step-parents, grandparents, foster carers. Anyone who is in the room when things get hard.

You don't need a diagnosis to be here. You don't need to have the language yet. You just need to feel that your child is different in ways that matter – and that nothing you've been given was truly built for them.

    This was.

If you've read this far, this was built for you.

Not because of what you searched for. Because of how long you've been looking. You're still here, still trying to understand, still believing there's something better than another generic strategy that wasn't built for your child.

    There is.
